Mrs. Rose M. (nee Sortino) Rohr, 83, died on July 28, 2017 at Granite Farms Estates in Media, PA. 
Born in New York, NY, she was a graduate of Julia Richman High School and Hunter College.  Before moving to Media seven years ago, Mrs. Rohr resided in Springfield (Del. Co.) PA for fifty years. 
Following graduation, Mrs. Rohr became a teacher at the Belmont Elementary School in Belmont, New York.  After marrying, she was a substitute school teacher for the Springfield School District and held several positions, including ones at the Valley Forge Military Academy Junior College and Haverford College.  She ended her teaching career at the Covenant United Methodist Church Nursery School.
Mrs. Rohr was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and the church’s choir.  She was also an active member of the AAUW (American Association of University Women).  She enjoyed cooking, Italian opera, writing to family and friends, her pet dog Romulus, and being in the country, especially the Poconos.  She was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Rohr is survived by her son, Carl S. Rohr, and two daughters, Caroline (Carrie) Rohr Martinek and Elizabeth A. Rohr, and three grandchildren, Christopher Rohr Urffer, Nicholas Rohr Urffer and James Peter Martinek.  She was predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Rohr, in 2002.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Rohr’s visitation on Saturday, August 5, 2017 after 9:00 AM at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 212 W. Springfield Rd., Springfield, PA, 19064, until the time of her funeral service at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, NY on Monday, August 7th at noon.
Memorial gifts may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church.

I just happened to see this. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was always so kind and friendly to me when I visited Covenant Church. My thoughts an prayers are with you and your family.

May the God of comfort grant the Rohr Family peace at this sad time. ( Job 14:14,15) Tells us that God longs to bring back those in his memory and to see them live on earth again.
